The position of social workers at the Labor Office - Material Emergency Department

The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical part which focuses on the Job Centre, the definition of basic concepts, services and activities of the Job Centre and its structure, material need benefits and the social workers concentrating on the material need agenda. The second part deals with the research and describes the research strategy and other relevant aspects of the research. The crucial point of the thesis is to describe the position of the social worker in the Department of Material Needs when working with clients. The main objective is to describe 'What is the experience of social workers with their position in the Department of Material Need when working with clients?'. The thesis takes into account the work of a social worker in the Department of Material Needs and what they have to deal with in the position. The thesis also focuses on how the social worker carries out the material hardship benefits agenda. As for the research method, we used qualitative research with the IPA (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis) method, a qualitative approach and Exploratory Coding. The view of the role of social workers operating in the field of services for people with disabilities through thematic collages

The bachelor's thesis deals with the role of social workers working in the field of social services for people with disabilities. The theoretical part discusses social work, the role and personality of a social worker, as well as the topics of motivation and emotions, both in general and in the context of the profession. Together with the topics of prevention and mental hygiene, the risks and pitfalls associated with the profession of a social worker are also mentioned. To put the topic of the thesis into context, the theoretical part also briefly deals with the issue of people with disabilities and working with them. Finally, the art therapy technique of collage is also introduced. The practical part analyzes the conscious and unconscious motives and emotions of participating social workers working with people with disabilities, through thematic collages and semi-structured interviews. Based on the symbolic interpretation of the collages, it was possible to find contents that differed to varying degrees from the messages in the interviews.
Role of social worker - challenges and limits of work

1 Abstract The diploma thesis "The role of a social worker in a psychiatric hospital - challenges and limits of work" deals with the profession of a social worker in a psychiatric hospital. The diploma thesis normally consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. The theoretical part is focused on mental illness, the characteristics of serious mental illness, the profession of a social worker working in a psychiatric hospital, multidisciplinary cooperation, the specifics of working with the mentally ill, the reform of psychiatric care and the organization of inpatient psychiatric care in the Czech Republic. In the empirical part, the qualitative research methodology is described and the data, which are the result of semi-structured interviews with social workers and their clients, are interpreted. At the end of the thesis, the main research question is answered, recommendations for practice and proposals for further research are included. The View of a Worker of Homes for the Elderly on the Death of their Client

The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to find out how home for the elderly workers view their client's death, also to see if there is a difference in perspective between the social worker and the social services worker. A qualitative research investigation was used to find answers. Queries were used as a method of collecting data. The qualitative research technique was applied in a semi structured interview. The research set was composed with 6 workers of homes for the elderly. Social workers and workers in social services were represented in equal proportions. Homes for the elderly were chosen by random selection from homes in the South Bohemia Region. An open-coding method was used to evaluate the result. Research has shown that home for the elderly workers view their client's death as part of their job. This view was influenced by practice in arranged initially for them death was taboo, but with the length of practice their perspective changed and they are able to talk about death with clients. The research also found that the difference in the view of death by a social worker and a worker in social services was minimal. It also found out what the difference is between a facility that provides palliative care and a facility that does not use palliative care. Workers homes for the elderly practicing palliative care are used to and taught to interact more with the dying clients. It can make it easier for them to deal with the their death. The use of this bachelor's thesis is varied. It can be used as information material for the management of homes for the elderly, which it can serve as a basis for finding the help of individual workers of a home for the elderly. Another use of this bachelor's thesis may be to inspire other social work students to research the subject.
Social Worker in Children's Home

This thesis focuses on the activities of a social worker in a children´s home. Its objective is to provide insight into the work of a social worker in a children´s home, describe the challenges and experiences encountered in the practice of social work. A social worker is an essential part of every children´s home. His responsibilities mainly involve the administrative aspects of admitting, accommodating, and departure of a child. In the practical part of the thesis a qualitative research strategy was utilized to fulfill the set objective, using specific methods such as questioning and semi-structured interview technique. Through semi-structured interview, answers to a total of 12 questions were gathered, which helped to clarify the objectives and research questions of the thesis. The research sample consisted of social workers from children´s homes. The gathered data was analyzed using open coding and subsequently grouped into categories. The results shown that the work of a social worker in a children´s home is primarily administrative in nature, and they only come into contact with the children in specific situations. The experiences of social workers vary in some cases, but they generally agree on the difficulties they face. One of the difficulties lies in facilitating contact between parents and child. For social workers in children´s homes, it is demanding to locate and contact parents. The problem is frequent changes in residence addresses or phone numbers. Another issue with parents is situation when they make numerous promises to their children but fail to fulfill them in the end. They lack essential information about the birth of the child, childhood, sometimes even about their health condition and relatives. The departure of a child from the home is also demanding for the workers. The workers have information about some children or the children themselves come to visit the children´s home, Unfortunately, regarding some of the children, the workers have no information, which troubles them.
Ethical dilemmas of a social care assistant at work for homeless people

The diploma thesis deals with ethics in social work, specifically in the social rehabilitation service, which helps people on the edge of society endangered by the social exclusion. In the theoretical part we can find a brief description of the problematics of homelessness and services helping this target group, followed by description of importance of ethics in the social work. In the next part is this thesis dedicated to outputs evaluated on the basis of in-depth semi-structured dialogues, being held with workers of specific institution. The reader can get to know the most frequent ethical dilemmas of workers, at their work with clients. One of those dilemmas was chosen for an analysis and it was analysed using utilitarism and deontology
The role of social worker in a care home

The bachelor's thesis deals with the role of a social worker in a children's home. In the theoretical part, the types of institutional facilities are distinguished according to Act 109/2002 Coll. Act on the provision of institutional education or protective education in school facilities and on preventive educational care in school facilities. They also describe the competences, activities, personal and professional prerequisites of a social worker in a children's home. The most comprehensive chapter is the very roles that the social worker in DD falls into. The practical part contains a comparison of professional literature with the practice of working social workers in seven children's homes from western Bohemia.
